Adams County, Iowa.

He is buried in Prairie Rose Cemetery located near Corning, Adams Co., IA.

Mr. Kerns was born in Gettysburg, PA, on April 2, 1844 and passed away in Corning, IA on July 29, 1939. He joined with Company F of the 83rd Illinois Infantry during the war and travelled some with Sherman afterwards. He was a Grand Army of the Republic member of the Llewellyn Post #324 located in Corning.
