EDWARD STREEPY
was the last known Union Veteran of the American Civil War as a resident of
Appanoose County, Iowa.

He is buried in Eston Cemetery located at Unionville, IA.

Mr. Streepy was born in Washington, IN, on October 30, 1844 and passed away in Udell, IA on December 13, 1942. He joined with Company I of the 36th Iowa Infantry during the war. He was captured in Arkansas and spent 10 months in a Confederate prison camp. Allen W. Miller #328 in Unionville was his G.A.R. Post.
