Mr. Bonwell was born in Highland Co., OH, on November 6, 1842 and passed away in Viola Center, IA on October 3, 1943. He joined with Company A of the 176th Ohio Infantry during the war. He was a Grand Army of the Republic member of the Allison Post #34 located in Audubon, operated a pharmacy, and served in the state legislature.
